What are the different terminals at O Hare? ›

Terminal 1, the ANA departure terminal, Terminal 2, Terminal 3, and Terminal 5, the ANA arrival terminal, are connected by the Airport Transit System (ATS), a shuttle service between terminals. There is also a shuttle bus stop for airport hotels located in between Terminals 1, 2 and 3.

Terminal 1 is used for United Airlines, Lufthansa and All Nippon Airways flights. It contains 52 gates on two concourses, lettered B–C. Terminal 2 is used for most United Express and some mainline United flights, as well as all Air Canada, Alaska Airlines, and JetBlue flights.

Domestic Terminals 1, 2, and 3 are connected to each other and you can easily walk between them or take moving sidewalks and escalators. The walk from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2 takes about 10 minutes, and from Terminal 1 to Terminal 3 can take up to 20 minutes if you're walking from farthest gate to farthest gate.

Airlines that use gates at Terminal 5 include Air France, Air India, Aer Lingus, Aeromexico, Alitalia, American, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Copa Airlines, Etihad, JAL, KLM, Korean Air, LOT Polish Airlines, Lufthansa, Qantas, Qatar Airways, Royal Jordanian, SAS, Turkish Airlines, United Airlines, and more.

Terminal 2

It opeartes domestic flights under Concourses E (E1-E17) and F (F1-F27) with 42 gates. Ground Transportation available from T2 is: Airport Express, Rental Cars, Charter Buses, Suburban and Reserved Taxis, Regular Cabs, Reserved Limousines. Bus/Shuttle Center is located at Level 1.

Flight operations at T-2 includes all international flights and domestic flights operated by four airlines which are AirAsia, Air India, Star Air, and Vistara while Terminal-1 will only be handling domestic flights operated by Akasa Air, Alliance Air, Indigo, and SpiceJet.

It is possible to make a connection between the national terminals and also with the main parking lot, through the Pedestrian Tunnel Level. Terminal Transfer Bus (TTB)​ allows connection between Terminals 1 and 5 and from Terminal 3 and 5 (boarding pass required).

Once Terminal 5's construction was done, airport authorities realized it made more sense to service all international flights (arrivals and departures) through the newly constructed terminal. Terminal 4 was no longer in service.

How do I get from Terminal 5 to Terminal 1 at Chicago airport? ›

Passengers who have a domestic flight in terminals 1, 2 or 3 can use the Airport Transit System to travel from terminal 5. Upon arrival at terminal 1, 2 or 3 passengers will have to go through a security screening checkpoint. Passengers can also use the Terminal Transfer Bus to travel from terminal 5.

If your United flight arrives in Concourse B and you need to go to Concourse C, there is a set of escalators between Gates B8 and B9. Just go down the escalators, through the tunnel, and up the next set of escalators and you will be in Concourse C.
